Château Destinée
With a wisteria arbor, a beautiful terrace overlooking the river and a large pool, this is a lovely quiet haven ideal for enjoyment. Our large reception rooms and orangerie are simply furnished with a touch of contemporary fashion sympathetically matching with this 18th-century chateau. Everything is ready for you to relax immediately on your arrival. You can even organize with us in advance for your grocery shopping to be done or let us do the cooking for your arrival dinner.
Located only 22 km from the UNESCO World Heritage site of Saint-Emilion and just over an hour to Bordeaux and its airport, or 45min from Bergerac airport, the chateau is readily accessible for all that the Bordeaux region has to offer. Accomodation ranges from a river view penthouse apartment, bed and breakfast suites, or self-contained apartments.

The site has been undergoing refurbishment and is now available for full chateau rental sleeping up to 58 adults.

Chateau Destinee is about tailored experiences to delight and engage guests. Food services include breakfast, the option to book an evening meal, cook yourself meal packs, shopping service and cooking classes all from our resident chef Peter.

History
Rich in architectural heritage, the municipality of Saint Seurin de Prats shelters Château Destinée. Overlooking the Dordogne river this 17th century home has undergone numerous changes. Originally two equal-sized homes owed by the Punch family arranged either side of a courtyard, it then became the home of the Segur family, a significant landowner in the region. In 1905 Doctor Samuel Amanieux acquired the estate and engaged a Bordeaux architect to bring the two homes together, enclosing the central courtyard with a third building to create an elegant and light-filled reception area and orangerie.
In 2020 the château was renamed and changed ownership. Château Destinée is currently being refurbished to restore it to its noble beginnings so that guests can enjoy its stunning location.
With history and modern changes Chateau Destinee combines a beautiful experience of the past with modern comfort provided.

The Barn
The barn offers a great space for many types of events. It has already hosted tango demonstrations, art events and small concerts. It also makes a great after-dinner venue for dancing and live music, with its own distinct atmosphere. The mobile food van can be arranged for food and or drinks making the space self-contained. A large, paved area accessible via 3 large concertina doors provides great flow for your party guests to go from inside to outside.

The Terrace
A shady terrace in summer and sun and light-filled area in the cooler months the terrace is framed protectively by the château on three sides. Stargazing, river contemplating and entertaining are favourite activities in this space. Direct access to the orangerie and the large reception rooms enables seamless indoor and outdoor entertaining. Wall mounted spot lights and string party lights provide the perfect atmosphere for long summer evenings spent enjoying alfresco dinning.

This expansive sunlit room is the place for breakfast. Guests can contemplate the day ahead as they enjoy this beautiful space. Large arched windows provide the perfect view to the outside terrace. The length and location of this room makes it perfect for the flow of your event. Moving from inside to outside through this sunlight room gives your event many options for different set ups.

Guests are spoilt for choice when they enter these two large rooms. With 4 m high ceilings and many different seats to select there is a space for everyone. Large sofas to cocktail tables and armchairs, come, sit and relax. If you plan an event at Château Destinée then this space provides a multitude of options for your guests to enjoy, giving them somewhere to escape the throng and relax before rejoining the party on the terrace or in the orangerie. In the cooler months these rooms make the perfect dinning rooms, either for private dinning or large events. Seating capacity of 100 for dinner means no need to worry about sudden weather changes or hosting your event in Autumn or winter.

Shared Kitchen
Château Destinée has a shared kitchen for guests to use and enjoy. Our resident chef can assist you if you wish or you can create and enjoy your own gourmet delights. For BnB guests this is a haven because it is a purely guest space (not the professional kitchen used by the chefs). Cooking classes are held here and can be arranged as part of your stay if booked in advance. Tea and coffee are available day and night.
Three hectares of grass and trees to enjoy. At the front of the château is a large water feature, a channel leading to the gazebo. Come and sit awhile to watch the dragonflies play, read a book and enjoy the park. To the right of the chateau is the large pool with shady lounge space and sunbeds to soak up the sun, while watching the river and life go by.

Destinée is a wonderful event location. With such a variety of spaces to entertain guests, you can create different atmospheres for the various stages of your event. The gazebo at the front of the house, the barn to the left, around the pool to the right, and the wonderful riverfront terrace. With a professional kitchen for your chef or ours, catering is a breeze.
Offering you the combination of catered and self-catering gives you flexibility for your stay.
