The Driveway at Château Destinée
When we first moved into Château Destinée on 18 February 2020, there was virtually no gravel left on the driveway. With the rain falling steadily, it was little more than a mud track. Our removal truck could not make it up the drive, and over time we also had several visiting tradesmen and delivery vans get stuck. It quickly became clear that this was not simply a cosmetic issue — it was something that absolutely had to be done.

And yet, like so many things in those early days, it took time. Because of COVID, we managed with the dirt track for more than a year. But by May 2021, with our first weddings booked, it was finally time. We had spent so much energy renovating the house itself that the approach to it needed to reflect the same care and transformation.
In many ways, it was one of the fastest areas to be completely changed. The difference made in just one day was extraordinary. What had been a patchy, muddy surface became level, clean, and consistent in colour. Suddenly, as you came through the gate, you no longer felt as though you were arriving at a building site. Instead, you felt that you were arriving somewhere special.
