What’s included in your wedding packages?
Our all-inclusive packages includes: event planning and management, guest payment collection and room allocation (up to 60 guests), bespoke in-house catering for all meals (events up to 100 guests), furnishings and linens, €300 décor credit, bridal suite lunch on your wedding day, budget tracking tools, guest website with RSVP and table plan, and introductions to our trusted local vendors for flowers, music, photography, celebrant, transport and more.
What ceremony options do you offer?
We offer both indoor and outdoor ceremony options. Indoors, our light-filled Orangerie features beautiful arched windows. Outdoors, choose from our wisteria pavilion, riverside terrace, or private park. All options work for any season and weather, accommodating 30 - 100 guests.
Can we do a half-château rental?
Yes! Our half Chateau rental accommodates 30 guests and still gives you full exclusivity of the Chateau. It is perfect for more intimate gatherings. It is available for weekends October to April, and mid-week, only May to September.
Do you accept 2-night bookings for weddings?
Yes! For midweek May to September or weekends October to April. We have an all-inclusive package and can build your budget for this just contact us.
Do you charge corkage?
We have a drinks package that covers unlimited beer and mixers 24/7 and unlimited wines during service times for evening meals with the option to have a fridge pack as well. If you do not wish to take our drinks package, we have a one-off fee for handling your drinks - receiving orders, storage, chilling and disposal of bottles and associated packaging. Fee depends on number of nights your event is and if you partially self-cater or fully self-cater. Example fee to fully self-cater for a two-night booking is 500€
Is the wedding adults-only?
This is totally your decision we can cater for children and have a children’s menu so up to you.
What is your maximum guest capacity for weddings?
We accommodate weddings from 30 to 100 guests. On-site accommodation sleeps up to 60 guests across 21 ensuite bedrooms and 5 apartments. Additional accommodation is available within walking distance for a further 35 - 40 guests.
How far is Château Destinée from Bordeaux and the airports?
We are one hour from Bordeaux city and Bordeaux-Mérignac airport, 45 minutes from Bergerac airport, and 22km from UNESCO-listed Saint-Émilion - perfectly positioned for international guests.
How do guests pay their contributions?
We offer a unique guest payment portal where your loved ones pay their contributions directly in Euro. You have real-time visibility via a shared file - no chasing payments, no currency headaches.
Is the venue accessible for guests with reduced mobility?
Yes. Château Destinée has a wheelchair lift, an internal elevator, an accessible bedroom with an open wet room, and accessible public facilities - ensuring all your guests can fully enjoy the celebration.
Can we bring our own wedding planner or caterer?
All wedding planning and catering are handled in-house by our dedicated team. This ensures a seamless, coordinated experience from start to finish. You’ll have one dedicated planner as your single point of contact throughout the entire process.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 10 months to 2 years in advance. We recommend reaching out as early as possible to secure your preferred dates.
What’s the average cost of a wedding at Château Destinée?
The average wedding (3 nights, full château rental) for 60 guests can range from €40’000 to €60’000. This includes accommodation for 60 guests, all meals (9 in total), drinks package, staffing, and estimated costs for Hair and Make-up, flowers, music, and photographer as well as tables, settings and planning, plus decorations. Everything you need for your special wedding day, welcome day and recovery day. Your style and choices can impact on this budget a lot so it is difficult to say this is what your wedding will cost. Your guest contributions are also a big factor when creating your budget. With 60 guests staying on site this is a point you should not overlook. We offer transparent pricing from quotation phase to wedding day. We offer an obligation free virtual tour and budget session right from the start, so you have all the details you need to make an informed decision.
What meals are included during the wedding weekend?
All meals from check-in to check out day are provided, including; welcome afternoon tea, welcome dinner, wedding day breakfast, lunch and wedding dinner with canapes, recovery day cooked breakfast, BBQ afternoon by the pool, relaxing burger night and finally breakfast on check out day.
Do you provide for dietary requirements?
Absolutely! Our culinary team accommodates all dietary needs. We collect dietary requirements in advance to ensure every guest enjoys delicious, suitable meals.
Can guests swim in the river?
Swimming in the Dordogne River is possible but not recommended when water levels are low (bacteria concerns), high (strong currents), if someone isn’t a confident swimmer, or if swimming alone. When conditions are right, floating downriver is a wonderful experience!
What about mosquitoes?
Mosquitoes are present, especially during warm months. We recommend guests bring insect repellent to stay comfortable during outdoor activities. They will not carry you away and many guests do not experience any bites, but we all know some are tastier than others.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
We always have a backup plan. Our light-filled Orangerie and grand reception rooms can accommodate your full guest list indoors. For most groups, the decision can be made the day before - for larger groups, a week's notice may be needed.
Are pets welcome at the château?
Yes - your four-legged family members are welcome by arrangement. Because the best celebrations include everyone who matters.
